Work experience & volunteering
As ambassadors of education and high welfare standards we are pleased to offer work experience placements, volunteering positions and advice on studying animal based qualifications and working in the industry.

We prioritise placements for students already studying relevant qualifications as part of their course requirements, but we also welcome volunteers with enthusiasm and an active interest in animals.
Volunteering
If you have some spare time and a passion for animals then you could be a great asset to our team.
We really value the time our volunteers invest in helping us run Small World Reptiles - we really couldn't do it without them!

The kind of things you might be asked to do as a volunteer include (but are not limited to):
- Enclosure cleaning
- General husbandry
- Feeding greens, pellets and live inverts
- Sweeping, tidying and cleaning
- Replenishing and pricing stock

We welcome anyone over 18 willing to commit a minimum of 4 hours per week for 3 months or more. We can be flexible with days and times but consistency is much appreciated.
